Botox: Pre and Post Treatment Instructions
BOTOX PRE-TREATMENT INSTRUCTIONS FOR PATIENTS
Reschedule your appointment at least twenty-four (24) hours in advance if you find a rash, cold sore, or blemish in the treatment area.
If you have a history of cold sores, please let your provider know. They may elect to put you on an anti-viral medication prior to treatment.
Avoid blood thinners if possible.
Patients that bruise easily, or who take NSAID such as Ibuprofen, Motrin or Aspsirin may bruise more easily. Avoid these medications at leas tone week before the procedure.
Avoid alcoholic beverages at least twenty-four (24) hours prior to treatment. Alcohol may thin the blood and increase the risk of bruising.
Discontinue Retin-A two (2) days before and two (2) days after treatment.
If you would like to minimize the risk of bruising after treatment, please consider taking Arnica(OTC) as this may help alleviate bruising/ swelling if taken at least 2 days before the procedure
BOTOX POST TREATMENT INSTRUCTIONS FOR PATIENTS
Avoid lying down/ sleeping for at least 4 hours following treatment.
Avoid exercise for rat least 4 hours following treatment. Facial exercise in the treatment area is recommended[frown/smile for a few minutes every hour.
•Avoid manipulation of the area(such as touching the injected areas, facials) for 4 hours after procedure. Note: These measures should minimize the possibility of Ptosis (eyelid drop).
Initial effect from Neuromodulators may occur in 1-2 weeks and last up to 3 months (or more). This depends upon your body’s metabolism of the product and other factors.
In 1-2 weeks schedule a brief follow up appointment with the physician to make sure the effects of the Neuromodulators are evaluated.
A touch‐up may be necessary in 1‐2 weeks(at an additional cost).
